The Cythai (or the Awakened) were the original race of Aelves created by Teclis. When they turned from his teachings, they scattered across the Mortal Realms, seeking sanctuary in the deep places beneath the waves. Over times, the Cythai were killed in battle, driven to madness or replaced by the Idoneth Deepkin, their modified descendants. The last surviving Cythai is Volturnos, High King of the Deep.
